An Oak Dresser Base of Country House Proportions

An Oak Low Dresser of Country House Proportions

An Oak Low Dresser  of magnificent proportions. 10 feet 4 inches in length. Circa 1740.
With two substantial cupboard doors with fielded panels, flanked on either side by banks of drawers beneath a top made from a single oak board. The ends with fielded panels.
The whole piece of the most superb colour and patination. However, the back and bottom boards and the drawer linings all remade in quarter sawn English Oak. The handles are replacements.
This piece came from the kitchen of a West Yorkshire Country House and almost all of the linings had gone. Fortunately the exterior remained untouched.
